Laura Trutoiu
Dr. Laura Trutoiu is a Senior Computer Scientist in Magic Leap’s Advanced Technology lab in Seattle where she helps create next the generation computing platform. Prior to Magic Leap, Laura lead research efforts at Oculus to build the first VR prototype headset capable of sensing and animating facial expressions. Laura got started with VR in 2005 when she was an intern at the University of Utah Graphics Lab. She holds a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University where she worked on data-driven perceptually valid facial animation. She has conducted research in several industry and academic labs including The Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, Disney Research, Industrial Light and Magic, Facebook, and more recently Magic Leap.
