Travel & Safety
It is recommended that international visitors arrive at Seoul, Incheon Airport and transit using train/bus to Dongdaegu (Daegu). It takes approximately 2.5 hours to travel by Korea Train Express (KTX) Railways and 4 hours to travel by Bus from Incheon Bus Terminal Station. Refer to Venue FAQ to read more.
From 8 June 2022, all overseas travellers to Korea will not be required to quarantine regardless of their vaccination status. View here for travel news. However, COVID-19 testing will still be in effect, making it necessary for all travellers to register a negative COVID-19 test result.
From 1 April 2022, it is crucial to register your vaccination status via the Q-CODE (Quarantine Information Advance Input) system, a system established by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to facilitate overseas entry procedures. We strongly recommend using a mobile phone for the best experience, as the desktop version may ask you to download a security plug-in which is likely to be blocked by your computer network.
To go to the Q-CODE website, click here. Please be ready to provide:
- Valid passport information
- Valid flight booking details
- Valid accommodation details
- COVID-19 vaccination certificate
- Negative result of a PCR test taken 2 days before departing for Korea
Further details are available on the Q-CODE system website. The system works in both Korean and English. For the best experience, we strongly recommend using a mobile phone, as the desktop version may ask you to download a security plug-in which is likely to be blocked by your computer network. Furthermore, it is recommended that confirmation email from Q-CODE are printed outand bring along when entering Korea. Please also check your junk mail in case it has been directed there.
Only vaccines which are approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) are accepted under the Q-CODE system. These are: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Novavax, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Covishield, Covaxin and COVOVAX.
From 8 June 2022, all foreign visitors who are not vaccinated no longer need to serve seven days of quarantine. South Korea has eased airport restrictions and remove mandatory quarantine for unvaccinated travellers as part of an effort to reopen the borders.
All travellers must take a PCR test within 2 days before the departure date to Korea and on within three days of arrival in Korea to submit a negative PCR test result. After taking the PCR test at Incheon Airport, you may carry on with activities. However, please note that you must be quarantined for seven days if tested positive. The result will be sent by e-mail. You can also receive the result by SMS if you have a mobile phone in Korea (excluding roaming phones).
