Biography
Dr. Lan Xu is an Assistant Professor with the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University, China. He received BS degree in Information Science and Electronic Engineering from Zhejiang University (ZJU), China and received a PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong. After that, he joined ShanghaiTech as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, PI. His research lies at the intersection of computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning and computer photography. In particular, his current research focuses on dynamic and static scene reconstruction, artificial reality, digital twins, and the ultimate goal is to reconstruct human digital assets and enable realistic and immersive tele-presence. He has published various top-tier conference and journal papers, including CVPR, ECCV, ICCP, IROS, IEEE TRO, IEEE TVCG, IEEE TPAMI, etc.See his homepage for more information: http://xu-lan.com/
His research interests include Human Performance Capture, Dynamic & Static Scene Reconstruction and Understanding, Digital Twins, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality.
