Junwoo Kim is majoring in Computer Science and Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea and is a master's student in Interaction Lab. Before joining POSTECH, he earned his B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Pusan National University in South Korea. His research in the field of haptics, which deals with a human touch, focuses on audio-to-tactile to enrich the user's experience and enhance immersion and its application to diverse domains (e.g., metaverse concerts, games, tactile music for the hearing impaired) for audio-to-tactile deployment in the real world. Audio-to-tactile is a study that converts sound into tactile sensation, and he has mainly studied conversion algorithms to transmit tactile information to the full-body and human perception.
